If the goal of the night was to show that the songs from "Surviving" could hold their own against those cherished staples, they achieved all that. Before the night was through, they'd dusted off another handful of selections from the new release, including "Delivery," the atmospheric "555," "All the Way (Stay)" (which included a saxophone solo) and the great "Love Never."Īt the same time, they made sure to come through with the staples fans were probably expecting, from "Pain" and "Work" to "Sure and Certain," "Big Casino," "Lucky Denver Mint" and "A Praise Chorus" before bringing the show to its obvious conclusion with "The Middle."Īnd guitarist Tom Linton stepped into the spotlight to sing lead on "Blister," a "Clarity" track that turned into a massive singalong.
